Hardik Pandya played a blitzy knock of 91 (off 34 balls), but failed to take Mumbai Indians home in a massive chase of 233 runs. Mumbai managed to post 198/7 in the end, losing the contest by 34 runs. Kolkata Knight Riders, 10 points, jumped to fifth in the standings with this victory as the hosts broke their six-match losing streak. Mumbai remained at third in the points table with 14 points. KKR kept their playoffs hopes alive with this win.
